“What you see depends not only what you look AT, but also, on where you look FROM.” – James Deacon

We are living through an impactful time in history. People are standing united against prejudice and injustice- Black lives matter, #me too and climate change. We are in the midst of a pandemic that will forever change the way we learn, work, and interact as a world society.

Perhaps it is because we have been forced to isolate due to COVID-19 that we are finding our voice. We have been forced to spend time alone and wrestle with the issues of injustice. We have found our collective voice because we have taken time to listen to our own voice.

Take time to listen to your internal voice, ferret out the prejudices you harbor about yourself and others. Take action to “right” the misconceptions you have- the world will be a better place because of it.

Something to think about:

Connect: List any prejudices you may have about yourself or others. “ I am fat, girls are not good at math, I will never get ahead, she only got the job because she has a size D cup bra”….

Clarify: List some actions you can take to impact and change those perceptions

Commit: Do at least one of the actions you wrote down today
